FalconX Robotics Team 6662
We are FalconX Robotics, a FIRST Robotics Competition team from College Park High School, Pleasant Hill, California. We are an entirely student-run team, teaching each other important STEM skills and using those skills to create a fully functional robot. We’re working to inspire the local youth to get involved in STEM, and we love to participate in local programs, such as Tinkers and Thinkers, the Sequoia STEM Fair, and BOY and GIRL Camp. We’re made up of 4 main divisions: programming, mechanical, electrical, and business. Each division contributes to the team in a different way, and the divisions must work together to keep the club running!

Schedule of the season
Our year is split into two sections: curriculum season and build season. Our club starts in August each year, and we recruit new members in September. New members get to select which facet of the team they’re most interested in: Mechanical, Programming, Electrical, or Business.
Once the team is assembled, our veterans and leadership teach new members the skills they’ll need to design and build the robot. We have four months to teach curriculum, and then we start with build season!
Our first build season meeting is kickoff, where we discuss our goals for the season and brainstorm designs for the FIRST competition robot. We have 8-9 weeks to design, build, and program our robot. At the end, we’re ready to bring our robot to competition!
During curriculum season, we have about two meetings a week. The frequency of meetings increases during build season, as the intensity of our workload also increases. We then have about four meetings per week, including our six hour Saturday meetings.
